Meet Luc Cianfarani, Composer
One of the next steps in post-production is the creation of our original score! We are thrilled to be working with NYC-based composer Luc Cianfarani on this.
Luc is a composer, sound designer, and pianist based in New York City. His initial training was as an avant-garde musician, and he received his master's in composition from Boston University in 2020. Since then, he’s devoted himself to blending the worlds of experimental and film music in the hopes of creating scores that are unique, visceral, and engaging. Recent projects include scoring Tolton Speaks, a documentary feature about America's first black Catholic priest, working as the music associate on the play Coast Starlight which just finished its run at Lincoln Center Theater, and collaborating with the Dutch painter Pierre van Dijk on an interdisciplinary project centered around synesthesia.
On the process of composing Him so far, Luc says: “I think the most fun part of scoring a film is deciding what sound-world the music should live in. I believe that each film has an innate sonic world that needs to be uncovered, and discovering this is an arduous but fulfilling journey. Both Rebecca and I are approaching this process with an open mind, and I'm excited to hear what sounds and ideas we come up with.”
If Luc’s life was a reality TV show, it would be called… Luc is Blind (I’m long overdue for an eye appointment)
