Meet Kelsey Myers, Editor Extraordinaire
Kelsey has been hard at work editing Him since early April. She and Rebecca are excited to complete the Director’s Cut early next week. There’s still lots to be done after that, including color, sound, and scoring (those will be done by additional post-production team members) but this is a huge milestone for Him!
So, what better time to learn a little more about Kesley?
Kelsey Myers lives in Los Angeles working in the world of post-production. Originally from Pennsylvania, she attended college at Point Park University in downtown Pittsburgh and eventually made her way out west. Currently, she’s an assistant editor in scripted television and film. Her most recent projects include Never Have I Ever (Netflix) and The Sex Lives of College Girls (HBO).
When Kelsey is in the editor’s chair, she loves to collaborate with fellow filmmakers to bring their projects to the end. Driven by her love for storytelling and the idea that a single cut can change the emotion of an audience, Kelsey is excited to continue to contribute to the craft of editing.
Kelsey on Him: “From the moment I read the script I was excited about the story and the vision behind it. There were so many fun ideas there on paper to explore both stylistically and with pacing. The presented character dynamics were so specific too. I heard great things about working with Rebecca. After speaking over Zoom I knew I wanted to collaborate with her to bring this project together. It’s also my first time cutting a feature film so I was looking forward to exercising my creativity and taking on a new challenge.”
If Kelsey’s life was a reality TV show, it would be called: Running With It

This week we want to thank everyone who has given us advice on this journey. We would not have made it this far without the generous information sharing that so many of our indie film peers have provided. This is an ANTI-GATEKEEPING SPACE! They’ve been named in this newsletter before, but go check out/ follow some of our favorite friends:
My Little Renaissance Girl, written by Amy Heller and produced by Anthony Gibson - thanks for being there for us since day 1 (MLRG is coming soon!)
International Falls, written and directed by the singular Amber McGinnis, who inspired Rebecca to pursue this in the first place (stream International Falls on Apple TV+!)
Zack Gross and Hand Me Down Films (stream their feature Harmony on Tubi) for his unending advice and encouragement.
